Our Scarborough Red is a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon harvested from young vines in the gravel soils of our Scarborough Estate. Fermentation in open containers, 14 days on skin and a combination of new and old oak results in a fruit forward wine with an element of spice which follows to a soft round palate with well integrated tannins and well judged oak. Destined for everyday drinking, but expected to develop beautifully in bottle over the next 5 years, this wine is best enjoyed with roast chicken, and hearty meat dishes.
